Session dates
The session will begin around 4pm on Monday February 25th and end after lunch Friday March 8th. Note that the Ecole de Physique will only open at 2pm on Monday February 25th (meaning that no lunch will be available at Ecole de Physique on that day) and that all rooms will have to be vacated on March 8th in the morning (no accomodation on Friday night).
Accommodation
Practical information about the Ecole de Physique des Houches can be found here. All participants will be lodged at the Ecole de Physique, providing a unique working environment.
Facilities: Washing machines and driers are available.
Payments
- Invited speakers: your travel and accomodation costs are covered by the school budget. Please keep all your travel receipts and bring them to the administration in Les Houches during the school.
- CNRS employees (non-speakers): your travel costs should be covered by the "formation permanente" of your regional CNRS administration. Please contact them. Your accomodation costs are covered by the school budget.
- Other french participants: a "bon de commande" can be adressed to Ecole des Houches.
- Foreign participants: the payment of the registration package (825 euros) can be made by cash, credit-card (but NO AMERICAN EXPRESS), or traveller cheques in euros. Note that travel expenses are NOT covered by the school budget either.
Travelling to Les Houches

If you arrive by train on February 25, and wish a taxi, please send us your exact time of arrival, we will try to book "collective" taxis.
If you arrive at Geneva airport, you can find bus services to Les Houches - 1h50 min - (Sat-montblanc) or
shuttle services to Les Houches - 1h20/40 min - (you may find many taxi companies on the web, e.g. Chamexpress,
Arvetaxi, Alp-line, for more of them see practical information page of the website of the centre).

Weather conditions
It is still winter at the end of February in les Houches, and the school is located at 1150 m. The days are still short and the weather is usually cold, so we advise your to bring warm sweater(s), rain gear, good walking shoes and home shoes. If you travel to the school by car, we strongly advise that you have winter equipments on your vehicle. If you plan to ski or hike during the free afternoons or week-end, consider bringing appropriate gear.
