CLAIRE contains a total of 576 crystals which are produced
produced by the Institut für Kristallzüchtung at Berlin. The
crystals will diffract 170 keV gamma-ray in Laue geometry.
For every individual crystal, the “collection area”, represented by the vector [Nz] is perpendicular to the vector [hkl], designating the orientation of the crystalline planes used for diffraction. |

For the calculation of the optimal crystal thickness at 170 keV (T),
a mosaic structure of 30“ has been assumed.
