Input file

All input files are in the $\verb!modele_path/dir.IPIM/dir.input!$ folder.

INI start_file.ini NEW
RES dd-mmm-yyyy hh:mm:ss
SIM nh:nm:ns  dt_sim dt_out T

where:

\begin{tabular}{rl} \verb!start_file ! & is the initialisation file for each planet: equinoxe.ini for Earth, mars.ini for Mars, ...\\ \verb!dd-mmm-yyyy ! & is the date start (20-mar-2015)\\ \verb!hh:mm:ss ! & is the time start (15:0:0)\\ \verb!nh:nm:ns ! & is the simulation duration (1:0:0)\\ \verb!dt_sim ! & is the simulation time step in seconds, 0.5 by default\\ \verb!dt_out ! & is the output time step in seconds (60 will write an output every 60s) \end{tabular}

The coordinate of one point on the grid is given in invariant or geographic coordinates.\ Invariant $\verb!INV!$ coordinates is relevant for planet with a magnetic field, the grid follows a dipole field line.\ Geographic $\verb!GEO!$ coordinates is relevant for planet without any magnetic field, the grid follows a vertical line.

INV mlt L alt
GEO lon lat alt

where

\begin{tabular}{rl} \verb!mlt ! & is the magnetic local time in hour of the dipolar tube\\ \verb!L ! & is the apex of the dipolar tube in planet radius\\ \verb!alt ! & is the altitude in km\\ \verb!lon ! & is the longitude in degree\\ \verb!lat ! & is the latitude in degree \end{tabular}

Copy the good $\verb!species_planet.dat!$ as $\verb!species.dat!$:

cp dir.input/species_xxx.dat dir.input/species.dat

If more species have to be used, edit the $\verb!species.dat!$ using latex convention:

-1  Neutral_name
1   Ion_name
