Prizes
There will be prizes for the four vehicle categories, each of a value 300 to 500 Euros, depending on our budget.

The rally will depart from the previous rallies in several points : the route starts from Spain, close to the French border, and in two stages only will reach the city of Toulouse, arriving as usual at “la Cité de l’Espace”.

In fact, there will an optional third stage, as we plan a short “solar ride by night” (if allowed by the authorities). As you may have guessed, the other differences are: a more challenging montain stage (the first stage) and a more challenging plain stage. The difficulties will be graduated according the the vehicle category. There vill be two main difficulty levels. You can choose which one you want to be in. This rally will span a sunny 200-km or less, depending on the difficulty level you choose.

Any solution for on-board energy storage is allowed, as long as its primary source is sunlight or electricity, and within the capacity limits specified in the rules posted on our web site. For the rest, the scope of the rally remains as before: demonstrating the feasibility and efficiency of renewable solar energy (day and night) for transportation, and sharing your experience with others in a challenging environnement. Points will be awarded on a similar basis as for the previous rallies. Elctricity will be provided at different places along the route to the vehicles that do not have enough embarked solar power. This power will be generated by grid-tied solar arrays.

Five associations and institutes are grouped to organise this event:

CNRS: the French Science Foundation,
ENSEEIHT, an engineering school,
la Cité de l'Espace: a large air and space museum in Toulouse,
PHEBUS ARRIEGE and VOLT-TOUR: two respectively French and Spanish renewable-energy non-profit associations.

Sunracers as well as more affordable vehicles will participate, grouped in different classes:

- Pure Embarked solar
- Mixed Embarked Solar
- Vehicles that can be recharged on solar stations (any electric vehicle with charger)
- Two-wheels vehicles
