High resolution imaging of asteroids

Asteroids are rather bright objects which are small enough to fit within the isoplanetic patch of the atmospheric turbulence (a few arc seconds in the visible). They are thus possible targets for PISCO.

A study of the surface and morphology of asteroids in order to infer the dimension and 3-D shape with a possible detection of satellites and in some favorable cases a characterization of the minerals at the surface, in collaboration with M. Festou (OMP) (André et al., 1994, Prieur et al., 1994). Bad weather conditions did not allow significant results with this program.
